Congratulations, you've found the most sold bike case in Europe. Unfortunately this style (Team Pro, Performance, Nashbar) is no longer available. The 'Box 2" for leight weight and size or the 'Case 2' for the fixed hinge would be the best substitute. B&W is a German company that has been manufacturing quality hard cases for decades. You can read more about their products on their homepage. All images can be enlarged by clicking them. Precision moulding and construction. Packing tips are included below.

Each case includes two un-padded wheel guard bags. Extra wheel bags in different formats are available in our store.

A demonstration of how we pack our bike for travel (don't mind the brochures, they were from the Interbike show).
|
|
Notice how the case stays partly open, due to limiting strap.
|
You can see the pull handle on this side. This is just a suggestion, one could take much more care in packing, but we were too worn out from the trade show.

Packing instructions: | back to top |
|
|
- Take the wheels out of the bike and remove the QR skewers.
- Store the wheels in the padded cover bags along with the skewers. Set them aside for now.
- Change the gears on the front so that the chain is on the small ring. The large chain ring will then 'dig in' and hold the hard foam block. Alternately use the optional chain cover bag and chain keeper to cover the rear drivetrain.
- Remove the handle bars from the stem by loosening the clamp bolts.
- Lay the bike on one sheet of foam with the chain ring toward the bottom. On larger frames, you may need to lower you saddle.
- Lay the handle bars next to the frame near the top of the box.
- Add any additional clothing, padding or other soft materials around the frame to give it extra protection.
- Lay the already packed rear wheel with the freewheel side toward the frame, so that it rests in a safe spot between the bike frame tubes. Use the adjustable straps to hold everything down.
- Put the remaining packed wheel on the other side of the box, so that the hub will not directly hit any part of the frame, when the box is closed. Use the straps to tighten the wheel in place.
- Close the two halves of the case, making sure things don't shift around. The two aluminum profiles should interlock completely around the case, then slide the four latches into the locked position.
- Tighten the velcro strap under the top handle and around the box for extra security.
- We recommend not locking the case, due to security checks in the baggage area. If you do lock the case, they may be forced to break the locks open.
- Don't forget to label your case with both your home and vacation address.
- Inspect your case for damage immediately after you arrive and make any insurance claims while you are still at the airport.
- compression member not really needed, but can be purchased separately, if needed.

Shipping: with FedEx ground based on your ZIP code. Lowest rates are for the lower 48 states. Due to the oversized nature of this case, we can't ship it reasonably outside the US. Also USPS will not take this large of a package (sorry no APOs).
